The biggest investment most people will ever make is in a home, so it makes sense to protect that home with a policy that is specific to your needs. When we work on a quote for customers, we discuss your home and ask a lot of questions as we gather information regarding the following:
The Dwelling – This refers to the structure on the residence premises that is listed in the declarations and used principally as a private residence, including attached structures, such as carports and patio roofs.
Other Structures – This insurance is the part of your home policy that protects structures on your property other than your house and helps pay to repair or replace structures other than your home, such as a fence, if they are damaged by a covered risk. For example, if a tree falls on your detached garage, other structures coverage may help pay for repairs.
Personal Belongings – You may know this as personal property insurance or contents insurance. It covers your belongings if they are damaged, destroyed, lost, or stolen. Most homeowners and renter’s insurance policies include average personal property coverage for your belongings, with limits. Some examples would be your furniture, clothing, appliances, etc.
Scheduled Personal Property– This insurance covers you for greater risks than your homeowners’ insurance policy. Scheduled personal property may increase the coverage limits on expensive items such as jewelry, furs, art and antiques, stamps, coin collections, or other select collectibles.
Additional Living Expenses – This coverage will pay for those extra costs incurred when you are temporarily displaced from your home. It is often part of standard renters, condo, and homeowner’s insurance policies.
As with a personal auto policy, there are many additional coverage options available to you, such as Identity Theft Coverage, Scheduled Personal Property or Building Ordinance or Law coverage. For that reason, we ask many detailed questions during the quoting process to gain insight into your specific circumstances. As a result, we will offer a quote which addresses your family’s individual needs.
