Why do we ask questions? The simple answer is to gain more information. When buying a new vehicle we want answers to a multitude of questions. How much does this particular year, make/model cost? What are the options included? Does it have leather seats? What kind of gas mileage does it get on the highway? The answers to these questions are important when buying a new vehicle. Answers are also important when buying a house, investing in the stock market, purchasing a rental property or a new pet for your family. Asking questions and getting answers helps us all make decisions on a daily basis.
When you call Sanger Insurance for a quote, you’d better have time to answer some questions. In fact, we ask a lot of them. And the reason we do is to learn more about you and what you need to insure so that we find the coverage that best fits YOU. In our office we frequently have people call who have gone online for a home quote or called an insurance company directly. They’ve been given a premium dollar amount and want us to quote their home, too. We pull out our questionnaire and begin asking questions. Sometimes we’re met with the response, “But they didn’t ask me these questions over the phone.” If not, they didn’t get some pretty important answers needed for your quote. And honestly, more often than not, when we offer the quote, ours may be a little higher. But it is accurate.
Our quote is higher because we did ask the right questions – the ones not asked by the person over the phone or the questions not listed in the online form. So why are the answers so important? When we’re done with our questions, we know about you and, for example, your house. We know the type of flooring and walls, the roof and the foundation, the sinks, countertops and type of heat. We know if you’ve converted the garage into a man cave, and if not, how many cars fit in that garage. We know how many and what type of pets you own. We’ve found out what type of cabinets you installed in your kitchen, how many porches you have and whether or not you have any special interior or exterior features. We know if you need to schedule an expensive gun or fur or wedding ring. We know what kind of bathtub is in the master bath and if you have a diving board or a trampoline in the back yard. We know because we took the time to ask the questions. The answers help us quote your home and belongings accurately. In the case of a loss, if you’re not insured correctly, your insurance won’t respond accordingly. WHY would you pay for coverage that won’t cover what you thought was insured?
THAT is why we ask so many questions. And THAT is usually why the insurance premium is a little higher. We don’t want any surprises. We don’t want to reel you in our door with the promise of a low premium only to have your insurance rate increase substantially at renewal because we didn’t ask the right questions. We don’t want you to be surprised because we didn’t run the right reports when quoting your auto in order to find that ticket or accident from last year. We want to be as accurate as possible when we offer a quote which is why we run reports before we offer that quote to you. We want those tickets or accidents to show up before, not after we give you a premium amount so that you’re not surprised when your premium goes up later when the insurance company finds out about them. We don’t play that game.
We do ask questions. We get answers. We don’t cut corners. We provide you with an accurate quote – one that won’t surprise and shock you later on. You won’t find that online. You won’t get that over the phone with the company. You will get that kind of service every time you call Sanger Insurance.
